Svenska Tecknare is the association of Swedish professional illustrators and graphic designers. Our members work within a broad spectrum of visual communication; illustrations and graphic design in newspapers, books and new media, websites, cartoons, animated films, news graphics, signs, trademarks, information and marketing.
We were founded in 1955 and now gather over 1400 members throughout the country. Our first and foremost concerned with safeguarding the intellectual property rights of illustrators and graphic designers. One of the most important of these is copyright. We also conclude financial and social insurance agreements with a variety of parties who commission work or employ our members.
Tecknaren, our magazine for illustrators and graphic designers is published four times annually.
The office is situated in Stockholm and has six employees working in administration, legal advice and communication.
