Tegnerforbundet af 1919 (The Danish Association of Illustrators) was founded in 1919, when a group of illustrators formed an association to secure some basic rights – first and foremost the right to be paid for their art work.

Since its inception, the Danish Association of Illustrators has played an important role for many. The work of illustrators can easily become an isolated business, which means people need sparring and expertise when it comes to legal issues. In addition to which, it has always been important for the association to arrange regular activities to bring illustrators together to advise and support each other – and to have fun
