Joseph Binder Award 2016
International Competition for Graphic Design & Illustration organised by Design Austria and Illustria.
«Everything is three-dimensional»
The motto of this year’s call for entries is borrowed from one of Joseph Binder’s quotes, which inspired the graphic designers of the Viennese studio 100und1 in their design for the visual appearance of JBA16.
«What is your dimension?»
We’d like to know from professional designers and design students from around the globe. We look forward to receiving numerous submissions, which must arrive by 17 April 2016.
Early birds will benefit from reduced entry fees until 29 February.
The Joseph Binder Award (JBA) is Austria’s only international competition for graphic design & illustration. Launched by designaustria in 1996, it is now being organised for the 13th time. Designers, illustrators, and students from all over the world are invited to submit their works realised between 2014 and today. The entries will be assessed by an international jury in fifteen categories: Corporate Design, Communication Design, Information Design, Type Design, Poster Design, Editorial Design/Books, Editorial Design/Periodicals, Packaging Design, Digital Media, Book Illustration, Media Illustration, Commercial Illustration, Digital Illustration, Illustration in Miscellaneous Applications, and Design Fiction. In November 2016, trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the best works, which will also be published in a catalogue and presented in an exhibition at designforum Wien.
